Eric's Surprise 16th / Christmas

merry christmas, lovelies! got such lovely texts this morning, including one that said i was "one of the most reindeery people" they knew! :3 i hope you all got what you wanted under the christmas tree-- i know i was showered in gifts this morning from mum, dad and my sister, mylynn. this year's the first year in 7 years where i havent put out my stocking, cookies, milk and carrots for santa and his reindeers. i feel somewhat deprived. a big thankyou to you: readers of my blog! this sort of commitment to a website about emotional episodes, computer viruses and suppressed profanities is astounding and i hope you guys will continue to find my material worthwhile of your precious time ♥

christmas eve was busier than normal this year with the added stress over a surprise party for eric. i contacted one of eric's closest friends, kevin three weeks ago but we kinda agreed that we'd need to wait till closer to the date for it to be logical to set a time and date. code for procrastination. big mistake. we were still deciding on last minute details on the evening of the 23rd! i had to run out to michel's and order a cake for eric, buy all the decorations, candles, streamers, sparklers. ordering the cake was a floury nightmare. my indecisiveness took up so much time. cherries or strawberries. sponge or mud. vanilla or chocolate. happy 16th birthday eric or happy birthday eric! in the end, it was also decided that vanessa and i would go and buy all the meat required for the bbq. that's right, because we man enough for that sorta thing.
so on christmas eve morning, mum drove me out to michel's. gave in my receipt, and they brought out three cakes: two that said, "happy 16th birthday eric" and one that said "happy birthday eric" all ordered for today. the salesperson looked a bit confused. (found out later during the party that one of them was ordered by eric's mum!) my one was the only vanilla one, but they forgot the blue piping that i ordered :( eric wanted a strawberry cake, but the only other design with strawberries on them costed an extra $20, so sorry e. this cake still had a layer of strawberry jam in the middle? hehe. met up with a few people at cabramatta station. raymond then decided to walk everybody home whilst vanessa and i go and buy salad and meat. 2kg each of sausages, pork chops, nem nuong and chicken wings, then salad mix and a few tomatoes. vanessa was kind enough to bring dressing and cutlery and stuff. (big thank you to vanessa for helping me just cos she's my bff and putting aside her hatred for eric, heh.) raymond came back out to cabra to help us carry it all home, thanks rayray :)
back at home, the boys were being fuelled by their testosterone. i was greeted by basketball, mini pool and shoutings of "did you buy nem nuong!". phuong-linh, tracey, kim and simon (thanks s for coming to a sefton event as well!) helped me put up the streamers and banners, whilst vanessa was in the kitchen preparing the salad. thing after thing to do, whilst all anticipating eric's arrival (i just spent 3 minutes figuring out the noun form of arrive).
we were all in the house when eric's garage door started sliding up and frantic screams (mostly on my part) were produced. vanessa and i ran out of the house, whilst all the boys greeted eric "surprise!" i got a text from eric then saying, "wow, everybody's at my house!" because i told him i was at church and couldn't talk rofl. the guys blindfolded eric and told me to run upstairs to his room. they pushed him onto his bed and locked the door, only for vanessa to jump out of his wardrobe and scream "surprise sex!" which everybody mistook for me so they all "ran downstairs and waited for us to finish".
whilst the guys tried to get the bbq started, the girls made the nem nuong which all ended up falling off the skewers on the barbie anyway rofl. eric's dad had to redo them hehehe. a lot of guys walked past the kitchen whilst we were making the nem nuong and said, "hahahahaha yeah, stay in the kitchen, girls belong there." i know it's all in good fun but if i hear another joke about me belonging in the kitchen or whether i should make you a sandwich or not, i will put a showercap on your head and make you stand outside the next time it rains. it's scary, trust me. i had to shower with a showercap two days ago and the water against it scared the crap out of me.

found a roll of leftover streamer in amongst the chips and glow in the dark worms. got my hurlstone homies to help me make this. michi on scissors, simon on tape and me on the role of streamers. we're systematic. reow. eric came out and said, "you're missing an r." it says ep16, hmph :(
half of us congregated in eric's room later as he hunted for his presents. there was one in his pillow, and under his bed? someone managed to slip his birthday card into his air-con vent thingy. all of us were saying "air conditioner" in viet to let the rest of the people know where it was, then one of eric's friends (i think daniel) said, "why is everybody saying air conditioner?" and ruined it all. RUINED it. what a ruiner. then there was the package behind his computer desk haha. earphones, a ukulele, battery powered nerf gun and itunes gift voucher. he turned into such a kid when he unwrapped and saw it was a gun, aw!

thanks eric for taking this photo without my consent and vanessa for distracting me so i looked away. i was not posing. puh-lease. that's danica's job hehe. i had to get changed into formal attire halfway through the party cos i had church. it was uncomfortable walking around. hollywood tape is not that fun to wear. spent the rest of the party ukulele-ing, singing and d&ming before i had to leave for church! i got so many compliments for my performance that i think my hair grew longer :$ i need a haircut. my sunday school class and choir also performed very well, so proud of them. we all got presents from the church, twas good fun :)

party at my house afterwards! good good fun! eric had a family party, where there was kk and pass the parcel afterwards, pretty sure he had fun because he fell asleep before being able to tell me anything about it. had a nice long chat with raymond on the phone though :)
anybody going boxing day sales tomorrow? i've never been.. i need guidance.

Bốn ngày đến Giáng sinh

the best things about christmas:
1. wrapping presents
2. giving people presents
3. the smell of tinsel
4. miracles happen
that miracle being my computer miraculously recovering. just turned it on after a month or so. hehehehe. i told you the cold shoulder technique would work. my dad's been all like, "just reformat the damn computer, who cares about your files. download new files." this computer's been with me ever since 2006, unfixed, untoyed with and unreformatted. everytime i get a virus, i'd go into a panic attack for a few hours before somehow fixing it. whether it be by system restore, or waiting for an antivirus to scan the 60000000 files on my computer before detecting the bastard infected file that's trying to sneeze on every other file on my computer and get my computer to break down and die die die! i refuse to die. and look who prevails? yeeeeah. thank you god :)
lunar eclipse tonight? i feel so obliged to watch these things but the last time i did, i wasted about two hours just waiting outside in the garden with my dog cookie.
finished christmas present for my fambam today! complete with two new rolls of wrapping paper too. now i have about 9 rolls in total, ach. i just couldnt help it (refer to photos above). john sands from borders, 50% off all christmas wrapping and cards, man! forgive me. the red one has real glitter on it that seemed to explode everywhere and have left trails around the house. i still have it on my fingertips and thighs and shirt and shorts and hair. and if i squint and look down, there's some on my nose. the other wrapping paper is just that ..paper cardboardy material. i'm lovin' it! first photo is for mum, second photo is mylynn's. mum's gonna buy dad's present for me to give because she knows what he likes better and doesnt trust me. (you see the ribbon in the photos? $1 for a 100m roll of that! orgasmworthy or what?)
i've been meaning to book for my driver knowledge test to get my l's at the rta. but i just feel so unprepared. do i ever feel prepared for anything? no. that's the problem. this test actually costs something. if i fail it, ill get more than an incurable feeling of asian shame.
going over to vanessa's for sleepover now! hope ya'll feeling the christmas spirit :)

Beachin'

good luck to all hsc students, hope you all get the result you want :)
went to coogee yesterday with sefton-ers! was excellenté. with an exotic é. despite the bus ride, of course. i don't do buses. my motion sickness is getting worse and worse and worse (alex found it appropriate to crack a joke about that. "motion sickness, eh? wonder how you got motion sickness.") train trip to central was quite enjoyable, finding out names of a few of the guys and being told, "you should remember me! you chucked a rubber at me at the library!" everybody had such distinct personalities, i laughed for a lot of the day :)
we had to be super cautious in the water because of some red algae thing that had washed in close to the shore. i was piggybacked, carried around or stood behind somebody and used them as a shield for most of the time in the water because of my paranoia. kevin, michael and a couple of others made a bet with me that if they dug a hole in the sand deep enough, they'd find water. they even went to somehow buy some plastic toy shovels, how cute LOL. had chish and fips for lunch, whilst watching michael rage, "hey! that's my chip! don't eat my chip!"
we buried raymond in the sand. actually buried his whole body. whilst i ukulele-d away. and got told off everytime i stopped singing. see how nice they are?!
lounged around on the sand, and by that i mean lying down fully covered with someone's towel stretched out vertically to protect my body, and my huge sunhat to protect my face and just relaxed with a couple of people. twas good. there were those public shower things, where you can just rinse yourself off. i pressed the button, water came out. i release the button, water stopped. i got so confused rofl. arent those showers meant to last like.. 10 seconds or something before they stop. i thought they were broken. until michael yelled, "you're meant to hold it down, oh my god!" eep.
got off at town hall to eat at pepper lunch! then i went home early whilst nearly everybody else went to play pool. or karaoke. not sure. but before i caught the train home i stumbled upon this amazing jewellery store! the pink one! the korean pink one! called 'so good'? anybody catchin' my drift? it's so big and it's so cute omg omg omg omg omg lol. it's like diva or equip but there aren't realy those big tags, necklaces and stuff just hang on the hooks around the walls, and in the middle are all your rings and hair accessories. and they're a bit more expensive than diva/equip but. sigh. new favourite store. go check it out, i think it's on george st :3
overall a great day and i hope i get to hang out with them again soon hehe :)

Because you are

yesterday was yvy's surprise birthday party at lisa's house! another great day with my girlies. party in our jammies, hehe. bbq was good fun. nibraas managed to give me three raw chicken wings in a row. that was when i decided it was time for a real man to take over-- me. yeah, yeah, i cooked that ox tongue, man, i owned that thing! don't worry, im not getting excited over meat. christie called me disgusting. a disgusting omnivore. boohohoho.
what happens in truth or dare will remain in truth or dare.
except for how liza had to go and knock on a random house and say, "i love you!" we were nice, okay, we picked the house with a gazillion christmas lights so if she does get kidnapped, she'll be trapped in a house with some sort of a festive spirit. an elderly couple answered the door whilst the rest of us hid in the bushes trying not to laugh. the couple probably now will look left, look right and left again before they leave their house.
presentation night was fun! the medals have downgraded so much. in year 7, you'd get a case with a gold plated plaque saying "first in [insert subject], [inserte name]" with the school crest engraved on it too. this year, it's just a plain hahs medal! cindy was complaining about the flower arrangements on stage though, LOL. all in all was a great night and cherishing my medal hehe. even if the booklet did say "wendy tran - geography".
got a letter from centrelink when i came home that night saying my youth allowance got rejected. rejected? what iz dis. even angela got youth allowance for hell's sake LOL. had to go talk to them today (figured out it was because i forgot to return a form) and got everything fixed up. they still need my tfn, but i lost that. whoooopsie. just called up the australian taxation office. got served by a very nice man so thank god for that!
"hi, my name is dan, how can i help you today?"
"hello, i've lost my tax file number. and i need it. to fill out forms."
"hahaha (seriously, he laughed) okay then, let me see. dum dee dum dee dum."
hehehe. oh and have i told you guys? we found chi-chi! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! yeah, arent you guys happy for me? you all saw how cute she is from my birthday. so she broke free of the fence last wednesday. everyday, my mum and i would walk around and call out her name cos she responds to it pretty well, but nothing. a few days ago, my granduncle and auntie were driving home from visiting my family, and they called back, saying they saw a dog that looked exactly like chi-chi at house number 13! (i live at 26). so my mum rushed there (this is all based on her words, i was asleep) and called out "chi-chi!" and it stopped running around the lady's front yard, and ran straight to my mum! and that was the end of that.
but not really.
few hours later, a girl comes to our house, straight through our driveway into our backyard and says to my mum, "excuse me, i've lost a cat, have you seen it?" and my mum says, "no, but these are my dogs." and she goes, "oh, that's my dog too." and then she proceeds to call it "chuckie! chuckie!" but she's fob, so she says "chug-kee".
what the phở?
my mum went to talk to her mum, and yes, indeed, it was house number 13! the lady goes all psycho on my mum:
"YOU SHOULD BE THANKING ME, NOT SAYING ITS NOT MY DOG I KEPT IT ALIVE, I WANTED TO RETURN IT TO YOU, I SAW THE POSTERS BUT I JUST DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO CALL IT. MY ENGLISH ISN'T THAT GOOD SO I WAS GOING TO ASK SOMEONE TO DO IT SOON!"
my poster clearly states my address and my dad's name. looking from the address she would've clearly been able to just take my dog back and she would've been able to call knowing that we're vietnamese! far out. of course my mum didn't let this lady's lie pass, so my mum went full asian gangster mafia on her ass! no. not really. my mum's too nice, really lol! my mum told her she just wanted to make sure that she understood that it is our dog, not to accuse her of anything but the lady went on and on and on.
the lady then goes on to say how much care she's put into the dog and we should just shut up and thank her (which my mum did do countless times). she goes on to brag about the bed, food, collars she bought for it and how she wants it back. cos she wanted to keep it was what was flashing in my head like a neon sign. but subtle you know. like a neon sign at a brothel. dont want her attacking me.
so my mum finally raised her voice and said, "if you want it back, come and get it. you put it around my dog for a reason, you wanted to keep it. goodbye."
go mother wendzilla!

Formal

a lot of schools would scoff at the fact that hurlstone formal had teachers there. im quite sure some even thought that a few cows would be present. but that doesnt matter because our formal was the best. sure, our venue wasnt anywhere too fancy nor would i deem a scratchy old car park as a great view, but we, us hurlstonians, made it a spectacular night. everybody looked beautiful, hot, gorgeous, pretty. i nearly turned lesbian for some of my friends. slowly and slowly the dancefloor filled up. people were quite reluctant at first but soon even our english teachers were dancing. by the end of the night, there was not one chair on the side taken, but rather all of us on the dancefloor not caring what others thought of our dancing, bustin' a move, doin' our thing, gettin' our freak on and proving that hurlstone class of 2012 is one amazing group of people.
i still need to build coffins for my feet.
and thank you to simon chau for being the best date i could've asked for! the corsage was so pretty teehehehe, and the amount of times you danced with me (was forced into dancing with me by me), ah i had so much fun! thanks for putting up with me when i proposed we linked arms and stride around the dance floor just for the sake of being dates, when i taught you how to hula dance and finding me to give me a hug before i got on the bus! :)
there's so much i want to write about regarding the night but just so much happened and so much fun. easiest way to sum it up for you guys without boring you to death: best night ever.

Formal-- tomorrow's tomorrow

formal shopping done i feel so damn accomplished. my purchases for formal include:
• dress
• clutch
• tie for simon chau
• maybelline/nyx make up
(totalling up to less than $150)
last minute formal shopping today. (wearing old shoes, by the way, im not going with a hippie motif.) i wont lie, it was stressful. damnit. so everybody knows i bought two dresses, cos they were on sale "two for the price of one" and since i have about three christmas church event thingies, mum said i might as well. for the past month ive been contemplating dress #1 or dress #2, possibly to the point of my brain cells dying away just so they wont have to think about it anymore. if only my eyebrows fell off due to so much thinking, then i wouldnt have to get them tamed. my eyebrows are virgin to plucking. i have virgin eyebrows. virgin eyebrows!
anyway the problem is i told simon three months ago that i would either be getting a purple or blue dress because, well, i kinda had my heart set on that. last week i just remembered that it would be lovely if our outfits matched! ran over to his group as he told me his shirt was purple and his tie was indigo. oh schnap. i felt so bad because my two dresses didnt fit that! ran around asking if simon could borrow people's ties and stuff, rar rar rar. decided to look around for a tie that might match simon's shirt colour and my dress which was extremely unlightly until i entered man to man! dun dun dun. 2 for $15 hehehe, i found a tie that was stripey-- a mix of purple that will match simon's shirt, the colour that my dress is and white! okay, i hope he likes it and agrees to wearing it, fingers crossed. if not we'll just roll in our own colours (h) nicholas told me i need to get simon a boutonnière. how much is that doggy in the window, because im pretty broke right now.
oh and on a rather lovely note [/sarcasm], the shop assistant was making small talk with me and it was ..*awkward turtle* i was looking at the ties and he comes up to me and says, "so, do you like wearing ties or something?" uh. haha. funny. i just said, "it's for my formal date" and he went on to say, "what size neck does he have? hahahaha just kidding, there are no sizes." dont scare me like that. neck size, what the heck is this, i had a very quick flash in my head of grabbing a measuring tape and placing it around simon telling him to hold still, hold still! then, finally, he pulled the rabbit out of the hat and came up with this: "so, what's this for, your year 6 farewell?"
...
onto much more happy tales. at stockland wetherill park, there's some kind of random stall that's selling all this make up for $5 each? even nyx lashes that were on urban outfitters for $10! i was so excited. im very n00b with two zeroes when it comes to make up. so maybe it's fake. maybe it's real. maybe it's old. maybe it's been made at home and when i wear it at formal ill get.. haemophilia. no, wait that's the blood disease. hepatitis. yeah, that. wekjrwlekjrwelr boohoohooo. somebody bought the clutch i've been dreaming about at strandbag! but it's a-okay boys and girls, i found another one. heh.
helped to paint the sashes today. good job guys, they look fantastic! vanessa and i were sinking slowly into depression knowing we did not possess any particular characteristic worthy of a sash. michi and i were concocting up possible catergories that can be implemented in year 11 and 12 to guarantee that we win something hehehehe. the only one that stood was "best dimples" considering i have one dimple and michi has one-- they could just make a gigantic sash that we could both wear. then we realised julia has two very deep ones and. did you hear that? our hearts cracked like that brick that michael dinh threw at me in year 7 agriculture.
formal assembly on thursday! i want my parents to come but my dad's at work and my mum's not bothered. so im going to be margaret's pride and joy when i receive my school certificate and school report.
junior years coming to an end. and i miss my potato sack dress already. i havent worn it in 11 school days given i had camp, lifesaving for a week, src planning day yesterday and mufti today. im getting scared about year 11. the workload, the subjects and whether or not ill be purchasing my new senior uniform on time. i know class of 2012 are a great supportive bunch though, so i hope you guys will pull me through-- dont forget about me, just cos im short (everybodys wearing 15cm heels and me?! im already shorter than all of you and im only wearing 5cm waaaaaah).
♥

Not ready

lifesaving week over. i am ten shades darker and now an unproud owner of a criss-cross tan on my back. my formal dress is strapless. -shoves face into a tub of yoghurt- nevertheless, it was a great week and 2a progressed very nicely through 3 levels above what they were expected to do! very proud of my group. it's strange talking to someone that has the same name as you. my tongue tangles whenever i have to say my own name. ill miss you year 7s, no doubt. i still remember my year 10 instructors, i hope i was nice enough to be worth a small area on the side of your mind. i dont know if anybody happened to catch this. but on channel 9, there was this news update. and one of the stories they showed was, "a wet start to summer" and i swear, i swear it was my group! it was all these kids in the water at the beach, holding onto surfboards with an instructor (which looked like the instructor we had). and they were all asian! who else could it have been. [/racist?]
i got invited to presentation night! :3
formal is closer and closer and closer! everybody has hair appointments and make up appointments booked, and im doing all of it at home. i wish i had the money, it would make me feel so glamorous and beautiful. yes im materialistic like that lol! i think most of us girls have had these dreams and aspirations of finding the perfect dress and heels, and getting our nice curly updos for year 10 formal. but are just too lazy now. that's me anyway. (lisa marie lai is wearing my dream dress, lucky bitch! i was gonna get it but my mum said it was too expensive. she brought it to school and let me feel it though. hehehehe, thanks lisa!) cant wait till next thursday!
my computer is virused. anybody that can fix it, without losing any of my files, ill pay you $30. my weekly lunch money.
couldnt go sefton formal yesterday, mum said it was too far and "what?! at the city?! by train?!" so went liverpool instead with some very delightful males. they dont mind a bit of girl shopping and i didnt mind a bit of explaining. "what's this?" steven says, pointing to a rather large bow. "it's a hair clip," i respond. "but it's so... big." and he was feeling rather sick by the time he got to the earrings that stretched about a kilometre and a half. he also taught me how to do awkward turtle. steven and i got into a fight about steven's new iphone. for those of you who dont know, on safari on an itouch/iphone there's the address bar and a box next to it which is the google search box. so you dont have to go to "www.google.com", you can directly type your inquiry in there. but steven typed in "google" into the google search box, which brought him to google's home page before searching up movie times. steven wouldnt believe me when i explained to him that that is not necessary.
happily munching away on my french fries as i sat next to a girl picking at her ginormous garden salad. people are slimming down for formal, im stocking up for christmas.
my dog, chi-chi ran away. sigh. i hope she's either safe with another family or have found a pack of kind wild dogs to call her gang. hopefully she didnt cross the path of any traditional old chinese men. i miss her so much :(
truong exam tomorrow. i just know ill disappoint him and drag my class average down. time to hard(apple)core this up. wish me luck, lovelies!
